THEY ARE ORPHANS TODAY!
Now, the father is gone, the mother and one other child. This is the true face of EBOLA. When we kneel and thank Heavenly Father for our children, don't forget to pray for those that kneel without either. There will be an upcoming generation that will carry this sorrow deep in their hearts!
THE HEARTBREAK OF EBOLA
This is a picture of a few months ago of a family in Sierra Leone and a baptismal day. THEN.....see above picture!
SOME TREES ARE REALLY BIG!
Came upon this tree after a training meeting up north in the Volta Region. I can say that I didn't want to stay long and find out if anything was alive in there. Notice, I'm in the front for a quick escape. Thanks Elder Terry for bringing up the rear!
CANDY MAN
On this particular morning when entered into the parking lot on the Temple grounds, we stopped our day to share with the children that were waiting for their parents to come out of the session. Elder Terry had them in the palm of his hands, and when he pulled out the suckers they really smiled. I loved when he had them unwrap their candy and give him the trash. He gave a mini lesson to keep the Temple grounds clean because it is a holy place. As you can see the little one on the right wasn't totally sold with that white man.
WRITING YOUR OWN NAME
As I sit in the back of a literacy class and watch these courageous women, I'm truly in awe at their determination. This woman, whose name was Cynthia, came to the board and painstakingly wrote her name. What must it feel like to see your name for the first time, and know that you were born and given that name? It's as if you exist in the world!

AN ARMY OF SERVING OTHERS
These smiles are truly how we feel being missionaries here in Ghana. We love His name above our hearts!
THESE WOMEN ARE MY SHEROES
This a literacy class of women that want to change their lives. The woman in the middle with the white dress is their teacher. They are so loved, and when you are motivated by love you will even do the hard till you can read and write! The one white face is a missionary returning home, and the other man is the Branch President. I call this women power.
$2.50 PER HOUR
Sat with these women and watched their skilled hands string beads from broken glass. They had such a pleasant and happy light around them. I love that even though they are paid $2.50 for an 8 hour day of stringing bead after bead they took time to share part of their day with us. Smiles are priceless!
A JOB FROM BROKEN GLASS
It's hot and the air is heavy with humidity. It's makes his work even harder because he sits very close to a hot kiln that sends forth even hotter heat in his directions. All day he has his head down and thankful to have a job!
